Why do some kind of ants turn into moaths after rains

14 May 2015 14:27

I think it usually happens to the nocturnal female-ants just because of their reproductional maturation or probably they have biological qualifications to turn into moths at any temperature of the rain, maybe it is the temperatural influence at them when it rains more than 4 or five days inwhich they have no breathful wind air or humidity, is it so?

you're right tatu but what's the actual reason of their immediate modifications or mutations from an ant to moth physically? Isn't it the influence of environmental temperature upon them?

well based on my personal observations, ants have physical qualifications to metamorphize themselves from their original physicality to moths reproductively;

I have also noticed most of times it occurs when it rains heavily, therefore I'm conjecturally hypothesizing that they have temperatural influence indeed;

Briefly I would like to say that the heaviness of rain, suffocation of wind or air, high temperature & environmental warmth, capacitate them to modify themselves or turn from ants to moths; right?

well what's scientific explanation or any theory about it?
