Are there any acceptable instances where a lie is better than the truth?

There are many cases where lying would be the correct thing to do, namely when withholding or altering the truth would be more beneficial than being honest. The simplest case is that of a "white lie"; for example, giving a positive opinion that does not truly reflect your feelings to save someone's feelings from being hurt.

No one likes lies. But, unfortunately, being dishonest with others and ourselves is sometimes easier than telling the truth. It doesn't need to be that way, though. Learning to be honest and eliminating the need for lies can help to clean up your conscience and your relationships.

yeah i agree but always remember it is better to tell a truth and make sum1 cry than telling a lie and make sum1 smile..
