who is the greatest president president so far in nigeria

The answer to this question should be based on the challenges of the time.first is Gen Yakubu Gowon(RTD) He was abled to managed the Nigeria civil war and reunited the country together and calmed agrieved persons with granting them state pardon. Perhaps by now some break away republics may have engaged themselves like in somalia,Angola and Rwanda.Second is Gen Muhamadu Buhari RTD who at the time of assuming office with(Late) Gen Tunde Idiagbon, Nigeria was almost a lawless country with corruption roaming the streets. The rich have put the country into their pockets. They hoard food, petrol and money. The poor were made to die in hunger. He used his office to arrest corrupted persons no matter your status and jailed them.He made Nigerians to respect the Flag and the anthem. Every body must be in queue at any service.cleaning of the dirty streets which is called monthly sanitation was introduced. He disciplined the indiscipline.W.A.I.He believes that all Nigerians are equal whether rich, forcemen or poor. Third is Gen Obasanjo RTD who introduced the GSM phones to Nigeria which the Nigerians are enjoying today.

With all due respect to the person who posted this topic and those who have so far responded.ln upholding that there is freedom of speech does not mean that it should be abused. Criticism is allowed but it should be constructive. For someone to say that all we have had are thieves is an insult to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you don't know the history of Nigeria's past leaders, you better not comment. Are you saying that the likes of Nnamdi Azikiwe,Tafawa Balawa,Aguyi lronsi, Yakubu Gowon and Murtala Muhammed, some who did not even have a house and a car of their own as when they left office are corrupt?certainly not.

The greatest president Nigeria ever had is Muritala Mohammed of the military era, because during his short lived regime, there was low inflation rate, the people were in great prosperity then, in fact fuel price then was #20, he also made Nigeria military a formidable force in Africa and in the world, our forces participated in peacekeeping missions in chad and Liberia, despite strong opposition from the west in Angola, Muritala singlehandedly made sure Agusto Neto of MPLA won, his longterm afrocentric policy was continued by gen obasanjo after his untimely death. Secondly the greatest president of our democratic dispensation is the late Umaru Musa YarAdua, for his uprightness, great respect for the rule of law and his zero tolerance to corruption, although his tenure was also shortlived
