We are looking to employ a very experienced, hands-on, dynamic, creative and highly effective self-starter. The person must have an outgoing personality, excellent organizational and computer skills with the ability to work completely independently.
Job Description:
• He/she will make travel arrangements and bookings for clients, and provide information about travel destinations and tourism attractions.
• He/she is ready to sell airline tickets, book accommodation, tours and attractions, do ticketing, and process payments.
• The ideal candidate will also be able to innovate new and responsible ways to market the Company’s services and direct traffic to the website with a view to making it the ultimate name in travels and tours on the continent.
Responsibilities:
• Give advice on travel or holiday plans, accommodation, transport, and places of interest.
• Book accommodation, transport, tours and cruises for clients.
• Advise and help with visas, passports, insurance and other travel-related documents.
• Prepare itineraries, issue tickets and collect payments.
• Carryout sales and aftersales activities.
• Organise and book conferences.
Requirements/Skills:
• Knowledge of Nigerian and other countries' transport systems, accommodation and tourist attractions.
• Knowledge of travel applications such as Amadeus, Galileo or Sabre.
• Ability to use Ms Office Applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; Internet based Applications, Social Media and Networking Applications such as Linkedin, Twitter and Facebook.
• Airlines' routes, alliances, and safety and security regulations.
• Passport and visa requirements, travel insurance and foreign currencies.
• Current affairs, including areas where travel may be dangerous and/or government warnings have been issued.
• Knowledge of managing a website is an added advantage.
• A fantastic grasp of English and experience in writing and preparing documents.
Entry Requirements:
• An Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or any relevant field.
• A minimum of 3 years working experience in the Travel industry.
• Deep knowledge of computer operations and computer based systems and software.
Personal Requirements:
• Skilled in sales and customer service.
• Good at listening and understanding of their clients' needs.
• Able to relate to people from a wide range of cultures.
• Enthusiastic, friendly, patient and helpful.
• Professional, responsible and resourceful.
• Excellent at time management and planning.
• Team player.
• Willingness to learn and grow.
• Requires little to no supervision.
• Can properly articulate his/her plans and ideas.
• Always looking for ways to improve operations and profits.
