The bulk teller performs varied and moderately complex duties, related to the timely receipt and processing of currency and check deposits from commercial customers and banking centers, in accordance with established procedures and controls. The ideal candidate must be attentive to detail, have a solid mathematical foundation and excellent customer service skills. He/She must also be able to learn quickly on the job, in a fast-paced work environment.


Ensure compliance with all internal controls and established policies/procedures be thorough and accurate in order to avoid errors
Identify customers, validate and cash checks
Accept cash and checks for deposit and check accuracy of deposit slip process cash withdrawals
Count currency, coins, and cheques received, by hand or using currency-counting machine
Examine cheques for endorsements and to verify other information such as dates, bank names, identification of the persons receiving payments and the legality of the documents
Perform specialized tasks such as preparing cashiers checks, personal money orders, issuing travelers checks and exchanging foreign currency
Receive and verify loan payments, mortgage payments and utility bill payments
Record all transactions promptly, accurately and in compliance with bank procedures
Balance currency, cash and checks in cash drawer at end of each shift
Answer inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts and other bank related products
Attempt to resolve issues and problems with customers accounts
Identify referral opportunities and make relevant referrals
Maintain a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all customer business confidential
Resume early and work late hours, weekends and sometimes public holiday, when requested to by the principal


Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and coworkers
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously highly detail-oriented
Strong reading, writing and mathematical skills
Proficiency with the use of standard office equipment and software, such as: computers, MS Office software Word, Excel and PowerPoint, fax machines, photocopiers, scanners

HND Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance, Accounting or any other related discipline

Microsoft office competence required
Previous work, voluntary or leadership experience is required
